About Robert Malove Robert David Malove Robert Malove is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Criminal Law. Over the years, Robert Malove has earned a reputation as a fierce litigator. In 1984, Robert Malove became an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, Florida. Over the next 12 years, Mr. Malove appeared in court regularly and handled all types of cases ranging from petty offenses to capital crimes.

In 1995, Robert Malove was designated to serve as the DUI Training Attorney at the Public Defender’s Office in Miami.

In 1995, Robert attended and successfully completed the Metro-Dade Police Academy’s Field Sobriety Testing Course and was issued a Permit to Conduct Breath Alcohol Testing on Intoxilyzer 5000 Series Breath Testing Instruments by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

In 1999, Robert was awarded the coveted "AV" rating ("very high to preeminent") by the International Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory — the highest rating awarded to attorneys and one shared by fewer than 7% of all lawyers in the United States.

Robert is a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Florida Bar’s Criminal Law Section and Traffic Court Rules Committee.

Among his many accomplishments, Robert defeated the State of Florida’s attempt to limit defense attorneys from cross-examining breath test technicians regarding the operation of the Intoxilyzer and obtained a published opinion allowing defense attorneys to expose the "voodoo science" the Intoxilyzer is based upon.1

Robert has been in private practice since 1996, and has represented scores of clients at administrative hearings and trials in County and Circuit Court, Florida’s Third and Fourth District Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

In 1979, Robert graduated from the The American University School of Justice in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Robert remained in our nation’s capitol and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University where a number of courses were instructed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Institute of Forensic Pathology.

Robert attended Pepperdine University School of Law from where he graduated in 1983.

Robert David Malove was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1957.
